Some people have stated that incest wasn’t prosecuted in this region and time frame, however, the father was arrested on suspicions of incest. So, HELLO? Read the whole thing?

As far as the identity of the father, could have been a neighbor, cousin, friend, or such who might just be a few years older. You never know, and we will never know now.

To suggest that when sexually abused, whether considered normal or not, not having an affect of some sort on a child is just ludicrous. I had a dear friend who was molested from the time she was very young and did not know it was wrong. She distinctly remembers being small and feeling that something wasn’t right and that she was “dirty”. It is not normal, it is not okay, regardless of society. Physiologically she may have had the same urges as any woman during ovulation, as we would assume with all else being normal for a young woman menstruating. After some innocent play with older friend/relative (8, 9, 10+) could find her little body stimulated by the unnatural hormonal increases associated with ovulation.

I am not suggesting that having marital relations at a young age that is acceptable in these societies is wrong, but many societies that allow very young marriages still delay sexual relations until the bodies are physically developed to carry a baby properly. This child like could not have given birth naturally due to a tiny stature. To consider this age acceptable for intercourse would be unreasonable and unhealthy.

At any rate, I also agree with a previous poster who reminded the other commenters that it was NOT considered okay or normal, else it would have not been hidden. In addition, if incest was normal and acceptable, then the father would have had little hesitation laying claim to the fruit of his loins.

Just saying… sometimes things are not well thought out, as we have read.
