ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate) the “energy currency” for cells is how cells store and distribute energy intracellularly. If you are making cars faster than the rubber can be supplied for tire production things won’t go well.

I was of the mis-understanding that C rations (about 2,000 calories) were for civilians who had appropriate housing and that K rations were “Kombat” rations (about 3,000 calories) designed for soldiers living outdoors. In 1979 I had a conversation with a dietician who was with the Army when the concentration camps were liberated. She was still distressed by the number of people they killed by feeding them to fast. Feeding sent many into congestive heart failure. She also mentioned that once a person is severely malnourished no amount of nutrition will be effective in restoring health….hence the mortality of anorexia nervosa patients despite treatment.

And some of the studies conducted here on African American populations in the South in the name of Eugenics are equally appalling. I often wonder if there are still experiments being carried out on people now, who are completely oblivious. It surfaced some years ago that the military had done experiments in the south St Louis area in the 50’s, in which non-descript boxes on utility poles were placed to emit radioactive cadmium (I think it was) so that they could clandestinely model the disbursement of radioactive fallout through urban areas. Years later those same areas showed alarmingly disproportionate ratios of Leukemia, birth defects, and certain cancers among people who lived there when young.
