I’m very interested in Sealand, mainly because the notion of having independence from the government has many benefits such as:

-No Taxes

-You can do whatever you want (and I mean whatever)

-If you steal from another country you can make up some fake policies so that their government can’t mess with you.

@captinjacksparrow: They are under their own rule, and choose to set limits on what their citizens can do, just as any responsible nation might. A micronation does indeed have broad scope for corruption. Personally, I’m glad they’re attempting to take the high road.
However, this is only my opinion, and I would neither expect nor force anyone to share it, nor would I think less of or insult anyone who disagrees with me. I suggest you follow the same guidelines in your own arguments.

It’s a fun story, but the bottom line is it’s a ranch house built on a sunken barge, occupied by a reclusive family. One must wonder about the mental health of anyone who lives in such isolation over a long term. Think “Castaway”.

I think it’s quite weird that they have their own country and could theoretically host anything at all — yet choose to put all these rules on their Web hosting customers?! WTF?

I think that the “HavenCo” company is now gone, their domain redirecting to another company which seemed to have bought it. What a shame.

Anyway — that little island still is able to collect firearms and grow/stockpile drugs freely… Too bad it’s a shithole.
